Moving

Good god if only it were this fun. . . what kind of happy pills are they taking?

What a relatable post, everyone's experienced the joy horror of moving. We were so excited to have possesion of the house a week early, but there are carpenters putting a sliding door in our bedroom so it makes it very difficult to move our furniture in. Plus their tools are EVERYWHERE. Hubby is livid because he was a carpenter for 4 years and he knows that what's taking them a week could have been done in a day. We should have just done it ourselves. Oh well so long story short tomorrow is moving day. The first of the month. We've stuffed the kitchen at the new place full of boxes but there's still lots to do. I should definitely be packing and not blogging haha. But, but, but, I love blogging!

On the plus side there will be a fun blog entry with pics of the new place to come! Yay. I have a tip though, something we found a few dozen moves ago. I assume most people carpet clean their rental place after they leave, we don't have one so we looked into renting, and Safeway has carpet cleaner rentals that are super duper cheap. AND they're really good machines. So I just googled how much it costs because I forget lol. I couldn't find info on their website but someone posted this: a rug doctor machine costs 20-25 bucks for 24 hours.. most places let you rent for 6-8 hours at a reduced rate Not bad eh! So hopefully the move goes smoothly. What a headache. Blah. Hoping we'll be in this new place for a few years!

Russells Books is Epic.

Most Victoriaites know and love this book store. I can't believe my first time there was yesterday! I've heard so many wonderful things. I have exciting news, I've been asked to substitute teach a couple pre-natal classes this month at 'Mothering Touch'! I decided to go to Russell's for some resources so I can plan my classes. They have such a great yoga selection! I was so happily surprised. These are the books I picked up:

Rosalind Widdowson
Has lot's of great sequences, postures for different trimesters, and postures for birth.

Julie Llewellyn-Thomas

Just like the title says :)
Helen Garabedian
Yoga for almost head holders, head holders, almost standing, toddlers! So cute!

Not about pregnancy, but a little gift for myself! It's supposed to be amazing :)

So all of these books plus 2 Archie comics because i'm obsessed with them cost $32! WOW. It's dangerous going in there. So many beautiful books, apparantly there is an upstairs as well but I didn't go in there. Jeez. Can't wait to read all these glorious books!
Happy reading my friends :)

God I love Friends!

I'm watching all of the episodes again for the 2nd time. They're SO good. Humorous, touching, you can't help but fall in love with the characters. I love the clothes, story-line, characters. mmm. Just great watching!

Remember when Monica got braids because her hair kept frizzing up on their trip?

Joey and Ross have a nap together haha

The holiday Armadillo. . . wtf.

The first episode where Rachel leaves her soon to be husband at the alter.

Trying to poke 'Ugly naked guy' with a stick haha.

Such great scenes the antics are just ridiculously aweseome.

I'll leave you with a Friends clip :)
Enjoy watching if you've never seen Friends before but i'd be pretty surprised to find someone that hasn't!

Summer has arrived :)

I haven't taken many photos since finding my battery charger, but since it's a gorgeous day and I have some down time I decided to go out and take some pictures in my landlady's garden. Can't wait to take pictures in my own garden! Hubby and I are starting to move tomorrow! Stay tuned for pictures of our new place :)

So without further ado, here are the pics. . .

Little self-portrait ;)

Had a lovely time taking these pics, looking forward to what the adventures of summer will hold :) Hope your all having a beautiful day!

Super 8 the movie not the hotel chain

Steven Spielberg you are a genius.

I loved this movie, the kids are So freaking cute. The acting was really well done, the special effects were phenomenal, story-line had you on the edge of your seat, and it had me crying by the finish. I tip my cap to you sir. I don't want to give much of a synopsis because I don't want to give much away. There's a reason the trailers are so vague. Keeps it mysterious and exciting. Stay through the end credits because they show the whole movie that the kids are filming, it's really cute. Oh and just as a side note a few friends of mine have gone to see 'Green Lantern' and apparantly it's not so good. Well happy movie viewing, I love leaving a film feeling like i've gotten my money's worth :)

Clothes used/vintage

There are two places in Victoria that are my absolute favourite places to shop for used/vintage clothes.
Flavour and the Patch

I've talked about flavour before in another blog entry. It's on Johnson st. The patch is on Yates by studio 4. I taught a class this morning outside, which was so lovely :) I realy enjoy doing yoga outside it feels like it's where yoga is mean't to be practiced. Needless to say it gets pretty darn sweaty though... I had to teach a class at Studio 4 afterwards, sadly I smelled like a dirty hippy but low and behold there was my beloved 'Patch' I ran in there to buy a t-shirt got a wicked element shirt for $10 and trotted over to Studio 4 to teach my second class. Anyways going there made me think about blogging about it. They've just recently expanded their store, can't believe some of the wacky outfits they've got in there! Lot's of spring/summer dresses. Definitely worth the gander. They have a sale on right now where they are showing you what items cost before the HST was put in place. Very interesting. . hmm.

Like I noted in another posting Flavour is pretty fab too. They have new clothes downstairs, but if you go outside and to the right there is the other part to Flavour and it's all used/vintage. I've bought a stupid amount of clothes there lol. They do consignment too, so you can bring your used clothes there and perhaps they will take them off your hands and present you with a little dough. What a concept. Alrighty well that's enough for now :) Happy shopping and yay for wearing t-shirts and shorts again eh?? :)

Quote!

Finished one teacher training, now i'm onto the next :) Pre/Post natal teacher training started today. Yep i'm still crazy busy. Haven't had much time to blog, but i'm still enjoying checking out all of yours when I can! I'm very excited about this program. I think it's an amazing thing. I'm so happy that programs exist for expecting mothers. I'm seeing how important it is to receive support during such an important time in your life. I look forward to seeing where this takes me :) I'd absolutely love to teach pregnant women. Perhaps mom and baby classes too. This opens a lot of doors for me, so thankful to have this experience!

I'll leave you with this quote, and hopefully i'll be back to blog soon!

"With the power of motherhood within her, a woman can influence the entire world. The love of an awakened motherhood is a love and compassion felt not only toward one's own children, but toward all people, animals and plants, rocks and rivers - a love extended to all beings... It is an attitude of the mind. It is love - and that love is the very breath of life"

The Hangover II

School is pretty much finished that means way more time to blog :) AND I found the battery charger for our camera!! That means there will be picture blog entries sooooon!

Saw the Hangover 2 the other day. You have to know going in that it's the same premise as the first one. They get drugged, and when they wake up they are missing a part of the 'wolf pack' haha. If your okay with the fact that the theme is the same just sit back and enjoy the hilarity :) It was pretty darn funny. Oh the antics. The movie takes place in Bangkok this time round. Shemales, a monkey, Mr. Chao, a riot, and many more random elements. I wonder if they're going to make a third one. Makes you wonder about going to places like Vegas and Bangkok. Serious party towns. Wow. Just sit back and enjoy this one, a very easy watch. Make sure you stay for the credits, in my opinion one of the best parts of the Hangover movies. It shows the pictures from the nights events. Graphic. Lol. Enjoy.
