Last night hubby and I went to my best friend Katie's place for homemade Indian food! Delicious! We had quite the spread, and it was the first time in a week and a half that I actually had some fun since this pesky cold came around.Afterward we settled in to play a game called "Settlers of Catan" if you haven't played this game you should it's a lot of fun. You start off building two settlements, and once everyone has done so the game begins. To start you take cards that coincide with land you've placed your pieces on aka. brick, wheat, coal, sheep, and wood. You use these resources to build more settlements, upgrade to a city, build a road, or buy a development card. The game is partially left up to chance because on each turn you roll a dice. There are number pieces placed randomly on each piece of land, if you roll that number you get to collect more resource cards. The aim is to gain 10 victory points. Settlements are worth one, cities are worth two, and you can get lucky by getting a victory card in the development card set.

It takes a little time to get used to the flow of the game, but it can get quite competitive once your in. I forgot to mention that you can trade development cards with other game members, which ads a fun element.
