Lovely evening

Last night hubby and I went to my best friend Katie's place for homemade Indian food! Delicious! We had quite the spread, and it was the first time in a week and a half that I actually had some fun since this pesky cold came around.

Afterward we settled in to play a game called "Settlers of Catan" if you haven't played this game you should it's a lot of fun. You start off building two settlements, and once everyone has done so the game begins. To start you take cards that coincide with land you've placed your pieces on aka. brick, wheat, coal, sheep, and wood. You use these resources to build more settlements, upgrade to a city, build a road, or buy a development card. The game is partially left up to chance because on each turn you roll a dice. There are number pieces placed randomly on each piece of land, if you roll that number you get to collect more resource cards. The aim is to gain 10 victory points. Settlements are worth one, cities are worth two, and you can get lucky by getting a victory card in the development card set.

It takes a little time to get used to the flow of the game, but it can get quite competitive once your in. I forgot to mention that you can trade development cards with other game members, which ads a fun element.

A poem

Life's sweet mysteries
Unveiled one by one
They keep you on your feet
Unable to escape the unsubtilties

In a moment it's swept under you
There's little room for reason
Life does not ask permission
When you've landed you'll realize you flew

It must be comic relief
For the big eye in the sky
To see us scramble without warning
Reaching out for our faithful belief

wide-eyed

So more often then not I'll be on the computer tooling around, and cat (Jux) will be chilling on my bed fast asleep. I wonder what he's dreaming about when his whole body is twitching, and he's silent meowing. I like to mess with him when he's like that ie. poke him, which provokes more twitching. I should video it sometime it's quite entertaining.

He has a very strange meow, I like to say it's a girlie meow. More like a 'peep' then a meow, but sometimes he lets out a meow that comes from the back of his throat it sounds like 'grrrreow' but really high pitched and still girlie. My point is when I'm messing with him sometimes he'll awake from what I can imagine is his 'chasing birds dream' he'll let out his 'grreow' and stare at me wide-eyed like I'm the devil. It looks a little like this:

My bad. . . . .

wacky dog

A version of Adho Mukha Svanasana or "Dog Pose." I was just looking over my yoga portfolio and decided that I would share one of my favourites :) I've been craving outdoor yoga as of late! The weathers been yucky, I've been sick, and I'm getting stir crazy. Outdoor yoga is beautiful you don't need a mat just bare feet, and the soft ground we call earth <3 I have a little group I teach on Wednesdays, we've been talking about how great the summer time yoga sessions are going to be. Mmm. Can't wait! I was checking out some other blogs, and noticed how many yoga inspired blogs there are, how great :) It's nice to see so many people practicing, and sharing yoga with the world. With that, Namaste my friends. Until next time!

Mystical land

Yet another Sumo Paint attempt, I love love love abstract. It's just sorta how my brain works. :p It's been fun working with different brush sizes, and shapes. The spectrum of color choices is pretty impressive as well!! Well friends I'm soon off to work so that is all for now, I wonder what you would interpret from this can I call it "painting"??

Sumo Paint

It's amazing how much time you have when your sick. I've been cruising the net, and I stumbled across a website called Sumo Paint. http://www.sumopaint.com/app/
Somehow I lost "Paint" on my computer so I started searching out if there was an online paint, and voila! There is, and it's way better then the old Microsoft paint anyways. It's like your painting with a real brush, and paint :) It also gives you pencil, and pen options. I decided to draw my cat Jux, he has a bizarre kink at the end of his tail, he must have been stepped on when he was young. I was trying to capture that strange fixation cats have with everyday life. Originally I was going for the moon, but the orb in the upper right looks more like the sun. Hopefully my skills at Sumo Paint increase. If you like online art programs give Sumo a try, it's really neat. :)

Fall on the floor kinda funny

Seriously this girl is brilliant. At times she pokes fun at her talent, but I have almost peed my pants laughing at her sketches. I think she should write a book. Check her out @ www.hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com
