Drawing Competition

Day 2: Favourite Animal

I love cats :) I love dogs too, can't wait to have one!

Day 3: Favourite Food

I love NOODLES! Loving noodle box, and spaghetti :)

Day 4: Favourite  Place

Vancouver Island! It's a terrible drawing of it, but it's such a wonderful place! I'd love to have a tattoo of the island. It's so good to live here again.

I wish the drawing wasn't so dark... I'll figure it out! Speaking of drawing, have you checked out 'Draw Something'? It's the top free app on the market right now, it's SO fun! Addicting.

Basically you have to draw something for a friend, and then they have to guess what it is, and vice versa. You earn coins to get more colors, and it's really fun and hilarious! Haha.

Hope your all great!

Plans for April! :)

It was a beautiful 1st day of April today!

Hubby and I went to a place called 'Garden Works' to buy 'West Coast Seeds'. SO exciting! I've planted seeds in a couple starter packs, since it's still pretty chilly out!

So far our garden will include:

Spaghetti Squash
Snow Peas

I've decided that I'd like to do a 30 day drawing challenge that I found on 'Stumble Upon'

It's going to be a challenge, but definitely fun :)

YOURSELF is the first challenge

It's going to be a great month :) Drawing challenge, New Prenatal class @ Kula, and Warmer Weather!!!

Oh how I've missed you Blogger!

PALS! I've been MIA!

Super duper busy slash I think that blogging everyday for a month did me in a little. I needed a little me time haha. BUT I'm Back!

  • I've 'Stumbled Upon' haha an epic new website called Stumbled Upon (See that's why it's funny) If you haven't been there before YOU MUST! It helps you find amazing things on the internet that reflect your interests. Warning, it's addicting. I've spent a good hour clicking 'stumble' :)

  • In April I'm going to be teaching a new Prenatal yoga class! Here's some shameless self promotion:
Exciting news: I will be teaching pre-natal yoga @ Kula Studio in Fernwood starting sometime next month, do any of you know anyone that is pregnant, or soon to be? I would love to have them in class! My info will be up on their website soon (Just working out the fine details) BUT in the meantime they are welcome to check out Kula's website
Remind them how important it is to take care of themselves and baby during those exciting 9 months!! I'm instructing not only postures, but breath techniques, relaxation methods, kegels, and strength postures to help them have smooth labor, and birth :) Would love it if you could pass this info on, love love!
We aim to provide a healthy and healing environment where care, and consideration are essential to exploring each persons individual goals towards healing.Learn More

  • Still enjoying the box of veggies that come every 2 weeks from Saanich Organics CSA program! We received beets this time around, and using those, and the ones I JUST harvested from our garden! (Can you believe that?!) I made Borscht! With THIS recipe :) Amazingly good!!

  • The next sewing project I have in mind is to make pillows for our couch! Who doesn't have couch pillows? Poor hubby uses a bedroom pillow, it definitely doesn't look as nice. Bought material from value village, so cheap! Here's one of the cats kindly modeling it for me haha.

  • Last but not least! P90X. Brianna and I went 8 weeks straight with the program, but have decided to gym it up instead now. I'm pretty proud that we went that far with the program, and I'm enjoying the lifestyle change it has provoked in us! Going to the gym get's me jazzed for the rest of the day, it's pretty great :)

I hope your all doing fabulous, I found another challenge that I'd like to bring to the blog, it's a 30 day drawing challenge :) So stay tuned for that, will probably begin in April! Stoked for the garden, stoked for warmer weather, jazzed about new classes.

Cheers xo

How to hem jeans! AND Photo Challenge!

Hey Pals!

I've always wanted to know how to hem pants by machine! I HATE hemming by hand. It's so time consuming, and pants never looks the way I'd like them to. SO I found a video that helped a lot, and I have officially hemmed two pairs of pants! I have to hem almost every pair of pants I own. I'm only 5'2. :)

Finished product!
Here's the video that broke it down for me!

See! It's SOOO easy :) I'm getting to be a pro at it now! I should open my own little hemming shop haha.

Yesterday the Photo Challenge was NIGHT

Here's an old night-time photo taken in Vancouver in 2009. I liked the way the street light was shining through the fog. Pretty cool.

For today the challenge was: SOMETHING YOU ATE

We got half a pumpkin in our CSA box, and this is what we made!! I've Always wanted to try making pumpkin pie from scratch :) NOM!

Here's the recipe. Note that it makes enough for two pie shells! I couldn't believe that half a pumpkin filled two shells. Intense! I brought a pie to work today to share with my co-workers :)

Hope you're all having a fantastic day!

Photo Challenge! SO BEHIND!!

Hey Friends!

It's going to be a big picture post today to catch up on what's been missed!

I've been MIA because I've been sick AGAIN. :( My poor body must be missing something?!

Challenge for the 22nd was WHERE YOU WORK

This is the only work related photo I have haha. SO happy to have a day off, and will not be venturing anywhere close to work today!!

For the 23rd it was YOUR SHOES

I LOVE these shoes :) I've had them for years. They were a gift from a dear friends uncle :) The brand is 'Creative Recreation' I call these my 'Moon Boots' haha.

Left to Right:

Hair brush,
 Parissa Wax Strips (AMAZING),
Nature's Gate Toothpaste (Gel, I prefer Toms),
Body Shop Coconut lotion (Light and wonderful. I use it on my face)
Glysomed hand lotion (Smells great :)
Natural disinfectant spray (From a herb shop in Courtenay, BC)

Left to Right:

Vaseline x2
Saltspring Island Soap (Gentle and amazing scents. I'm currently using Cinnamon)
Q-Tips (So Necessary)
Alba Shave Cream (For Hubby! He says he like's it :)
DIVA CUP! (For all women out there. If you don't know what this is, you should!!) DIVA CUP WEBSITE Best decision I ever made concerning that time of the month. Seriously.
Tom's Deodorant (Lovely and Aluminum Free!)
Body Shop Strawberry Lotion
A lighter (I love tubs with lit candles :)
Sudocrem (From my pal Andrea, works well on rashes, or skin irritants)

There you have it, the inside of my bathroom cabinet.

For today the challenge was GREEN

My Green eye'd baby :)

OKAY! One last thing to talk about! To my EXTREME delight I've signed up for CSA boxes! CSA stands for 'Community Supported Agriculture.' For $30 every two weeks I'm having veggies delivered to my house! Not just any veggies, but local, seasonal, organic, happy veggies that come from and support 5-6 local farms! In the box we just received we got:

Winter Greens
Frozen Berries
Pea Shoots

I didn't know what Kohlrabi was. It looks like this:

I found a recipe online for 'Kohlrabi Ham Bake' We added a few of our own ingredients, but it turned out great!

YUM. Here's the recipe

We added frozen veggies, and cheese.

Hope your all having a wonderful weekend! I'm resting a lot to recover from this sickness. I'm hoping to cook the pumpkin tonight, and find a recipe to use the rutabaga in.

Photo Challenge

For yesterday it was SOMETHING YOU HATE

Not my cat, but THE CAT BOX OF DEATH. I hate cleaning it SO much. Blech.

For today it was HANDWRITING

So here's a poem in my narly scrill. If your not sure what it says (And I don't blame you) Here is the poem:

My Hands
Open the curtains of your being
Clothe you in a further nudity
Uncover the bodies of your body
My Hands
Invent another body for your body

I hope your all having a lovely Monday!
